I've always wanted ideas on how to implement everyday technology such as cell phones into the learning environment. As teachers, are we able to trust students will stay on topic while texting? Or at least focused enough to complete the assignment at a proficient level? Is there a way to be able to show your text conversation (print it) so a teacher can visualize the interactions concerning educational growth?

I agree that as educators we should possibly look at incorporating cell phones into some lesson plans. They are a huge part of our society today and could be beneficial if used the right way. I think a lot of guidance and direction would be needed to keep students on task.
ReplyDeleteI found a way from my Monday post, go figure that many people have obviously been working on it.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is great, but I do feel there are times when we need to not get carried away. Personally I do not feel a cell phone should be used in a classroom. There really is no way to monitor if a student is doing what you asked them to do and do you really want a student to be tweeting or blogging when you are teaching? Even if they are tweeting or responding to something that is being said in class, I feel that they would be missing information that you were talking about and other students would be distracted by looking at their phones to see comments.
